The Ringling invites our patrons to an immersive art experience led by Artful leading up to Art Basel Miami Beach fair with an optional extension including VIP access to the fairs with curator-led tours of Art Basel Miami and other selected fairs. This experience will highlight a combination of the must-see art Miami has to offer the week of the fair with private visits to artist studios and collector homes. Miami's art scene has boomed in the last several years as more artists, collectors and galleries migrated South. This tour will offer a broad and deep view of one of the most engaging art scenes in the US today.
Experience the complete insider view of the Miami art scene led by an Artful art educator. For the past decade, she has been teaching undergraduate and graduate classes at Hunter College; adult programs at the Museum of Modern Art; and school programs at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Her approach merges contextual information with an open, inquiry-based learning style that engages diverse audiences. She is thrilled to work with Artful on creating unique and intimate art experiences. Lauren holds a BA in History and Art History from Columbia University and a PhD in Art History from The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY).
This Miami experience will take members from the trendy design focused Wynwood area developed by Craig Robins to the hip emerging artists' studios who call Miami home. Collector visits will not only include the famous de la Cruz and Rubell private museums, but also the seldom seen private homes of well-known collectors. The tour will include select highlighted museum and gallery exhibitions at locations such as the Perez, El Espacio 23, The Bass and Nina Johnson.
