The Museum of Contemporary Art invites you to join The Maurice Marciano Director, Johanna Burton and fellow MOCA patrons on a once-in-a-lifetime excursion starting in Milan and concluding with a visit to the 2024 Venice Biennale. This trip will be accompanied by Artful Experience Director, Graylin Harrison, who has an extensive knowledge of these cities. This installment of the Biennale will be one of many firsts, including the event's first-ever Latin American curator, Adriano Pedrosa of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo, and the first-ever Indigenous artist to represent the US, Jeffrey Gibson.
The Rosa Grand Hotel is in the heart of Milan, overlooking the historic Piazza Fontana and nestled behind the city's Duomo. The Rosa Grand is within waking distance of the fashion district and the art collections of the Palazzo Reale and the Museo del Novecento. In Venice, we will stay at the five-star Hotel Danieli. The hotel was built in the early 1600s
Milan is unique among Italian cities for its effortless fusion of centuries' old cultural heritage with contemporary art and top-notch hospitality. In addition to an exciting lineup of modern and contemporary art venues, this trip will expose you to Milan's Renaissance and Baroque legacy with visits to the historic sites and collections. In Venice we, will enjoy a thorough tour of everything the Biennale has to offer: the Giardini, the Arsenale, and the many satellite installations throughout the city. Stranieri Ovunque, or "Foreigners Everywhere," is the title of the curator's international exhibition, held in the Central Pavilion (the Giardini) and in the Arsenale. The exhibition takes its name from a series of works by the feminist, conceptual artist collective Claire Fontaine, and it comprises two sections: the Nucleo Contemporaneo and the Nucleo Storico.
