The Asian Art Museum invites you to Mexico City, one of the most important political, cultural, educational, and financial centers in North America. On this exclusive journey, we will explore some of the best private collections and artist studios, and also enjoy afterhours museum visits and owner-led gallery tours. The trip includes a VIP preview and tour of Latin America's largest art fair, ZONAMACO, which brings together leading and emerging national and international art galleries every February in this thriving capital. Throughout the journey, travelers will experience the Mexico City arts scene with an Asian and Asian-American lens.

The Museo Jumex is the home for the Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo. The museum opened on November 19, 2013 and is recognized as one of the most significant contemporary art museums in Latin America, showcasing a vast collection that includes works by renowned artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Gabriel Orozco. Designed by British architect David Chipperfield, the four-story building was designed to compliment its contemporary collection and promote discovery and reflection. The building features a striking saw-tooth roof that allows natural light to enhance the viewing experience throughout.

Recognized as the largest art fair in Latin America, Zona Maco is an annual international art fair founded in 2003 by the Zélika García. It takes place every February in Mexico City at the Centro Citibanamex. The name "Maco" stands for "México Arte Contemporáneo," reflecting its focus on contemporary art; however, the fair also showcases design, photography, and antiquities. Most recently the fair had 208 exhibitors from 25 countries, solidifying itself as a significant platform for local and international galleries going into its 22nd year.
