Our co-host for the week will be Andrea Feldman Falcione, a respected curator and art advisor who has worked in Los Angeles for over 25 years. She began her career at MoMA with none other than Thom Collins; this reunion is sure to provide great chemistry and artworld stories throughout the week!
The Barnes will be welcomed with open arms by leading collectors in LA including visits with three ArtNews Top 200 collectors: Michael Ovitz, Susan and David Gersh and Cliff Einstein.
We will also have a curator led tour of Olaffur Eliasson's exhibition OPEN at MOCA, and enjoy insight from curators and directors of the best of Los Angeles museums, along with gallery owners. Special visits include LACMA, The Hammer Museum, The Huntington Museum and Gardens as well as mega-galleries Hauser & Wirth.
A highlight of the Barnes trip will be significant time in artist studios with visits to Jonas Wood & Shio Kusaka, Shinique Smith and Thomas Houseago and others to be announced. Finally, PST Art: Art & Science Collide will take place across LA during our trip. A Getty Museum initiative including 45 organizations across Southern California discussing thought-provoking themes art and science; we will incorporate a taste of the best of this unique art event.
Your artistic encounters will be complemented by hospitality and culinary delights to match! This trip will include luxury accommodations at The Maybourne Hotel, located in the heart of the Beverly Hills shopping district. Our dining will capture the casual elegance of Los Angeles as well as its global culinary strengths at local favorites both new and old.
