The Best of Contemporary Art in Venice

You are invited to join The Contemporary Austin on an exclusive trip to discover Venice's art and culture. Join sharon maidenberg, Ernest and Sarah Butlet Executive Director & CEO, who will lead this trip to Venice and Murano with Alex Klein, Head Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs. Patrons will experience five days of immersive art experiences. Special visits, combined with cultural and culinary adventures, that will introduce you to the highlights of the 60th Venice Biennale. 

This trip will begin on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 with a visit to a collector's home and conclude with a Michelin Star dinner at Vetri on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Patrons should arrive in the morning, our programming will begin in the afternoon with an exclusive visit to the private collection of Barbara and Gaetano Maccaferri. We will visit the Venice Biennale curated by Brazilian curator Adriano Pedrosa, the first Latin American to curate an International Art Exhibition, and the first one based in the Southern Hemisphere. Jeffery Gibson represents the United States at the Biennale. He is the first Indigenous artist to represent a country. We will have a private after-hours tour of St. Mark's Basilica and the Peggy Guggenheim collection. Venice has some of the most exciting restaurants and we will eat at Corte Sconta and Ai Gondolieri to name a few!

We will stay at the five-star Hotel Danieli. The hotel was built in the early 1600s and is located in Venice, a few steps from Piazza San Marco. In 1822, the palace was transformed into a hotel by Giuseppe Dal Niel. He renamed the property after his chosen nickname "Danieli". Electrical power and elevators were first added under new ownership in 1895. The final structural improvements were completed in 1948 with the addition of Palazzo Danieli Excelsior. Adjacent to the hotel, take a Gondola, water taxi or Vaporetto to explore the city's expansive waterways.

Our TCA Milan and Venice experience is priced at $13,469 for single occupancy and $10,735 per person in a double occupancy room which includes all ground transportation and water taxis while with the group, lodging, events, and all lunches and dinners during your trip.There is an opportunity to make a donation to The Contemporary Austin during the booking process. Two single travelers are welcome to share a room. This trip is eligible to The Contemporary Austin members at the Ambassador and Leader levels. This trip is limited to 15 guests and your booking is requested as soon as possible, but no later than May 16, 2024 . Reservations will be processed on a first come, first served basis. This trip is paid in full and non-refundable due to the hotel and restaurant no cancellation policies.  A minimum of 12 guests is required to operate this trip. Please note: breakfast, airplane flights, and airport transfers (water taxi) to hotel is not included. All programming may change and is subject to availability of hosts, collectors and artists.

No refunds will be provided for cancellations after registration due to strict no cancellation policies of the hotels and restaurants. If the museum has another patron to fill a spot a substitution will be allowed. After the trip has commenced, no refunds are available, even if the client does not partake in all of the trip's activities or leaves the trip early. Check-in time at Hotel Danieli in Venice is 3 PM. Check-out is at noon.We highly recommend trip insurance which is offered when booking.
