The Barnes Foundation invites you to

The Musée de l'Orangerie has acquired two remarkable works Portrait of a Woman and Portrait of a Man by Henri Rousseau, known as "Le Douanier" (1844-1910), by the Société des Amis du Musée d'Orsay et de l'Orangerie (SAMO) thanks to the exceptional participation of Mathias Ary Jan. This acquisition is in line with the museum's current plans to present a major exhibition devoted to Henri Rousseau, in collaboration with the Barnes Foundation, in spring 2026. This new acquisition brings to 11 the number of works by Douanier Rousseau held by the Musée de l'Orangerie. Thanks to this acquisition, the Musée de l'Orangerie now holds the largest collection of works by this artist after that of the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, for which Paul Guillaume acted as broker and intermediary with Dr. Albert Barnes.

Cancellations

  • No refund will be provided for cancellations within sixty days of the trip's start date. If the museum has another patron to fill a spot, a substitution will be allowed. After the trip has commenced, no refunds are available, even if the client does not partake in all of the trip's activities or leaves the trip early. The final payment due will be automatically charged to the same credit card used for registration, 60 days prior to the trip
