The VIA Art Fund invites you to join [VIA Rep TBD] in Mexico City (Ciudad de Mexico), one of the most important political, cultural, educational, and financial centers in North America. It's the largest city in Mexico and the second most populous city in the world, with over 20 million people. We will explore some of the best galleries, museums, artist studios, and private collections in the metropolis. This includes the Frida Kahlo Museum, the Jumex Museum, and the Museo Nacional Antropologia as well as private tours of Kurimanzutto, the Olivia Foundation, and the home of Luis Barragan. We are excited to visit the studios of several established, local Mexican artists like Ana Segovia, Gabriel de la Mora, Pedro Reyes and his wife Carla Fernández.
When our eyes are not being immersed in Mexico City's art, architecture, and history, our other senses will be treated to culinary adventures in one of the best food cities in the world. Our closing dinner is at Rosetta, located in the heart of one of the most charming neighborhoods, Colonia Roma. This restaurant is the personal vision of chef Elena Reygadas, voted World's Best Female Chef in 2023. Rosetta is a lush, open-air space, and the menu is always rooted in local and seasonal ingredients celebrating simplicity as a supreme value. Every meal throughout the trip will showcase the diverse range of influences and Mexican ingredients, whether it is the more traditional menu at Azul Condesa or the more experimental menu at Carmela y Sal.
The St. Regis Mexico City, our accommodation for the week, is a sanctuary in one of the most exciting destinations in the world. Soaring 31 stories above the city bustle, this hotel stands along the tree-lined Paseo de la Reforma bringing elegance into the modern era, elevating an otherwise typical hotel experience to a higher standard that reflects the evolution of this world-famous metropolis. Anticipate refined spaces with nods to the rich local culture of Mexico City, meticulously crafted and brought to life by renowned butler services. Luxuriate with restorative treatments at Remède Spa or lounge by an indoor pool with awe-inspiring views of the city skyline.
